Fruits and Vegetables Garden

There are many fruits and vegetables that can be grown in your own back yard, it is not as difficult as you may think, and it can be rather fun. There is something very rewarding about growing some of the food that you place on your dinner table. Suddenly you become very particular about your onions, peppers, and blueberries. Your basil and other spices can come right out of your garden in a short period of time but fruits can take a little more cultivation with a few exceptions.

You can grow okra, figs, garlic, grapefruit, avocados and chives, peppers, squash, mustard greens and cucumbers. It is so easy to grow your own string beans. There are so many fruits and vegetables you can grow on your own, depending on the size of your garden spot. Tomatoes, peppers, and a few onions can be grown in a pot if you like. Mustard greens will grow when the weather is cold and blueberries are very easy to grow...

You can grow carrots, sweet bell peppers, collards, cantaloupes, beets, radishes, corn, simply step into your local garden shop and let your imagination run wild. Now you might be saying, “I cannot get help by just reading a book, I still feel lost.” Well, in that case step into your local feed and seed. They are the places that sell hay for horses and other farm items, and practically anyone who walks in the store can help you. People who grow things on a regular basis are a wealth of information.

A lot of herbs can be grown right in your window box. There is no need to always buy everything from the supermarket. These are things you can grow yourself Basil, Cilantro, Rosemary, and others. If you are lucky enough to have a small green house you can really have some fun, see how many vegetables you can grow. You can grow lettuce and cabbage, apples, peaches and the list goes on.

A fruits and vegetables garden doesn’t need a lot of space, simply choose the vegetables or fruits you use a lot and plant them. Once you find yourself having enough onions and herbs to last you all season you will be raring to start planting again. Now sit back and think of your favorite vegetables and start planting. One plant can generate more than you will be able to eat, you will find yourself searching for neighbors to give the overflow to, and that is great. You can grow almost any fruit or vegetable yourself with a small amount of effort. Gardening is such a wonderful hobby, and so rewarding.
